No, I'm not running a program made to display plaid patterns at random. Anyway, I decided to rip into it. I didn't spring for the warranty, and even if I did, this problem would not have been resolved by the 'Geek Squad' for weeks, possibly months. I know, I've been through this before.
So I popped it open and poked around a bit, honestly I don't really know what the problem was. I think that one of those super thin wires is pulling away from from a contact. The screen was fine when I twisted it slightly, not a long term solution. So, feeling defeated, I put it all together and tightened the screws.
Now it seems to work. Happy ending... until it happens again, and I'm willing to bet 5:1 it will.
